Habitat: Mostly nocturnal. Do not travel in
packs, but sometimes with young. Prefers mountainous or forested areas. Sometimes
seen during the day in secluded areas. Sometimes can be seen in trees. |
Identification: Large cat, tawny to grayish in
color. Is very fast and noteble for its long tail. Has white belly or front
chest. Golden-Green eyes, curved
topped ears. |

Diet: Mostly deer, but with an occasional
rodent, hare, or something else that is uneaten. Will (but rarely) kill a
domestic animal. Will not eat tainted meat. |
Lifespan: Up to eighteen years. |
Area: Most of Western United States,
Canada, and Mexico. Is not commonly seen in the Eastern US, except for in
areas of Florida. |
