The Vision

The vision for the Olympic Natural Resources Center is derived from the vision of the citizens and the legislature of Washington state. The vision of the Olympic Natural Resources Center is:

  • to be the recognized leader in providing information on successfully integrating environmental and economic interests into the pragmatic management of forest and marine resources;

  • to be sustained through broad public support, adequately funded from a diversity of sources to carry out its mission and able to fill in a cost effective manor, needs unmet by other programs;

  • to be a strong partner with the Olympic Experimental State Forest, contributing management research and educational opportunities needed to achieve OESF objectives; and

  • to be recognized as a valuable and objective authority, that contributes to the resolution of conflicts over the use of forest and marine resources through the identification of key issues, initiation of research and dissemination of information.
